Having trouble installing the Surf beta on Android? No worries! A few users have run into snags, so we’ve put together this guide to help you out.
Quick reminder: Surf is in closed beta and requires an invite code to join. The steps below are for users who have signed up for the Surf waitlist and were sent an invite code via email.
Once you’re in, you'll get an email with the subject: "Your Surf INVITE CODE is here!"
How to download Surf?
Go to the Play Store and confirm that the email used to join Surf is the one associated with your Google Account. If you need to switch Google Accounts or add an account, you can make this update in your profile in the Play Store.
Once you’ve confirmed your email address, search for the email with the subject: "Your Surf INVITE CODE is here!" and select the Download Surf button to go to the Surf page in the Play Store.
Once you've installed the Surf app, here's how to sign in:
Log in with either your Bluesky or Mastodon account.
For Bluesky, enter your username or email address and a unique app password.
For Mastodon, select your instance and tap Connect.
Enter this INVITE CODE: [Your Code] to join the beta and get access to Surf located in your email.
If you're having trouble downloading the Surf app or using your invite code, shoot us an email at support@surf.social, and we’ll be happy to help.
