We don’t request access to run in the background indefinitely. You’ll see in our device Settings that Background App Refresh under Flipboard is not present. That's because our app will run in the background for only a short time--usually just a matter of seconds.
So why so much data? Certain media types consume more data.
Adjust your data usage setting
- Go to your Profile.
- Tap the Settings icon.
- Select Reduce Data Usage.
- Toggle accordingly.
Want to use Wifi only?
You have the option to disallow Flipboard from using cellular data altogether. Open your device’s Settings, locate the Flipboard app, and toggle the Cellular Data switch off.
